It’s a by-product which comes from the processing of maize starch (by corn wet grinding), consisting of bran and soluble maize. Other products derived from starch and from the refining or fermentation of starch may be added. Since it comes from maize, it maintains the characteristics of the starchy and protein fractions of corn, however starch is more degradable at the rumen level than the corresponding fraction of corn grain.
